Clomid is mainly used for the treatment of female infertility. Coming in generic name clomiphene, the drug is available in different brand names like Clomid and Serophene.
The drug acts by stimulating ovulation or the release of eggs. The drug has to be used as per the physician’s direction. The drug can be taken with full glass of water and is normally used in five-day cycles. It is better not to miss ay dosage and in case a dose is missed, better take it as soon as it is remembered.

In case of ovarian cysts, the medicine may lead to an increase of the size of the ovary. It is seen that Endometriosis worsens in persons taking this drug as the level of estrogen is increased due to the drug. There is also a possibility that the fibroid tumors may increase in size.

Abdominal pain, abdominal swelling, ovary enlargement, pressure, tenderness, swelling, nausea, flushing, diarrhea, vomiting, blurred vision, dizziness, breast tenderness, unusual uterine bleeding and headache are some of the side effects that can happen with the use of Clomid. There is also a possibility of multiple births with the treatment of Clomid. A person who feels any uneasiness after taking Clomid should not delay in seeking medical advice. If delayed, there is a high risk of an increase of the side effects.
